Trusting the Untrustworthy

You understood the dirtiness

Of my dirty past

Then you harmed me further

By throwing it back in my face

So that you could watch me

Stumble and fall along the way

Through all these damaging games

You play

I learned to hate you

Left alone on an empty curb

Watching cars drive by

What was given was then taken

My mind went blank

It shut down

Left me alone

on the side of the road.
